It's that time of year again for food drives and Thanksgiving Basket collections. Here are a few ways you can donate this year:
Scrapbook Boulevard in Victorville, CA is collecting non-perishable canned and boxed food to donate to the local Homeless Shelter in Victorville, CA. They are offering a free crop night coupon just for bringing in food!! The food will be donated on November 25, 2008. So give a little and get a little crop time for free! For all the details, contact Scrapbook Boulevard.
Jennifer Priest is collecting canned food for the local Food Bank and Community Health Center. Sheis hosting an event at her home for her friends to come crop and make some fun projects -- friends coming to the event are encouraged to bring 20 cans of food with them. The food will be donated on December 14, 2008.
Are you helping collect food for the homeless or assemble baskets for those in need? Please share your story below in a comment by November 30, 2008. Jennifer will choose one lucky winner to receive a set 10 handmade "Thank You" cards in a tin. And thank you for being generous and doing your part in these times. We know we all are feeling the effects of the economy but if we just give a little to help someone else that makes the whole world a brighter place.

Once recipients of such things, my daughter and I travel into the heart of Central LA to help distribute food to the needy.
It is so wonderful to give back and to help my daughter see the benefits of giving to others.
The folks who help and the ones who come thru the lines are from such diverse backgrounds.
Thank you for letting us share our stories.
Happy Holidays!
