Event Update:

Thank you for your help and efforts in making these past events successful!!

We raised $1500 for Serve the City Center at the Scraptacular Retreats event in Concord, CA

Elena traveled to this amazing retreat to raise money and awareness for Serve the City Center in Concord, CA. 150 women scrapped the day and night away and had a great time doing it. Ginamarie, her daughters and crew did a fabulous job pampering these women and making the event tons of fun! Thank you to all the wonderful women who bought raffle tickets and than you to Westcott and Canon USA for sponsoring the event with fairy fly bys and free photo printing!

We raised $4500 at the Twilight Crafting Extravaganza at Jazi Crafts in Oceanside, CA!

This was an event to remember hosted by the amazing Queen of it all-Sheila and Mistress of Ceremonies-Donna Salazar. Everyone had a fabulous time with make an takes from Cheryl Mc Adams, Donna, Nan Paturzo, and Suzie Q. There was a fabulous auction, awesome food and most of all tons of fun! We raised about $4500 hundred through pre-fundraising efforts by the participants and the silent auction. Jazi Crafts loved it and they want to do it again so keep an eye out! Thanks to Canon for the free printing! It was a huge hit!

The Relay For Life event went awesome!
The Cancer Survivors were able to make memory pages from the event with photos printed on the Canon Selphy ES40. Kristine was on had to take photos, and Bonnie, Danette and Sarah helped people make pages to commemorate the day. It was so well received we hope to be able to mobilize volunteers for future events like this. The event coordinator said she wanted to cry because we were willing to do so much for the Survivors and we were thrilled to do our part for these courageous people.

Thank you again and see you at another event soon!

Seriously, think about it~

I am back. I do not even know if you missed me, but I am back. So, I do this class called my 5 minute collage.
It is really random and very fast paced. It is really surprising what shows up in the process. The above picture is a 5 minut collage that I did. I was thinking, how funny that these three words showed up all together and how true they really are.
This week end Elena is doing a fund raising event in Newport Beach for Reflections. She asked me to come and help here. I decided to do a good deed and show up! Not tell here how much I support her but actually show her. Deeds, Not Words!
If you are able, stop by & support Scrapbook Royalty~

Isle Carnival is now open to the public! Let’s break it down for you... On the evening of Friday, April 30 there is a "party within a party" planned! It is an evening of fun and then more fun! Our Isle Carnival is an incredibly enjoyable evening brimming over with special Vendors and tons of Make 'n' Takes, all taking place at the same time! It has all the components of a fabulous evening.

During the Isle Carnival there will be a Vendor Fair and Make 'n' Takes hosted by some of your favorites. You will be able to stroll from the Vendor Fair to the Make 'n' Takes and vice versa during the whole evening. For starters, almost all of the instructors from Reflections (Maggie Holmes, Debbe Campos, Elizabeth Kartchner, Kelly Goree, Katie Watson and Kelly Purkey) will be hosting a Make ‘n’ Take and Debee Campos will even have a vendor table with some of her amazing Etsy merchandise.

Some of the other amazing individuals you can look forward to seeing are: Nora Griffin, Erin Bassett, Jamie Ko, Pine Cone Press, Nicole with Scrapbook Garden plus many others, after all we need to keep a few surprises. There is always a wonderful, eclectic mix of vendors at the Isle Carnival from artists, individuals with etsy sites, jewelry designers, make-up artists, and hand made items.

For a little taste of the vendors who will be hosting, we have Jennifer Priest, Martha with Your Scrapbook Deals, Punky Sprouts, Debbie Flicker, Amy Tan, Sassafras Lass and Reflections will even have a table with some brand new releases for sale.

That is not all! Scrapbook Royalty and Reflections are raising money for the American Heart Association. There will be a silent auction with lots of handmade items as well as some great gift baskets.

Crafters Doing Good: Paperclipping Live Efforts to Collect Items for Life Books

Paperclipping Live is doing an event on May 1, 2010, National Scrapbook Day. It's all about helping kids who are wards of the state -- check it all out here:

“Children in the custody of Social Services create Life Books to remember their lives and the people they have lived with. Life Books are simple scrapbooks the social workers, foster families, and adoptive families put together with the children. Life Books are also used as a form of therapy, to get to know the children, and to understand their situations. They are also used to help the children feel a sense of belonging. The children take the books with them as they move through Social Services. Scrapbook supplies are used to create these books, but Social Service offices don’t have budgets for the supplies they need.

They can use anything you want to give … tools you don’t use anymore; a sticker sheet that only has one sticker left on it; pens you never use; things you want to get rid of so you can have room for something else; whole sheets of paper; good size scraps you don’t want to keep; freebies you’ve received but won’t ever use; supply storage containers you don’t want anymore … you name it!”

So gather all the items you planned on selling at your next scrappy garage sale and assemble a bag for this cause. It's easy, costs you next to nothing (because you'll be delivering it locally), and helps a great cause.

Find your local contact person by contacting the state here:

Department of Social Services

744 P Street MS 19-73
Sacramento, CALIFORNIA 95814

Outside of CA?

Find your contact person here:

After you've completed the task and posted to Paperclipping about it, come here and share the weight of the items you donated. Thanks for supporting this worthy cause ;)

Crafters Doing Good: Help For Haiti at My Creative Classroom

Join My Creative Classroom as we help the victims of Haiti's recent earthquake! I've been teaching at My Creative Classroom, an online crafting classroom, since last year and with the recent earthquake in Haiti, the instructors and MCC Founder got together to offer a class to benefit the victims of the quake.

Ten of the MCC faculty and myself have come together to offer this wonderful class. It is really a 'buffet' of different styles and techniques.

All proceeds from this class will go to a wonderful organization.....Haiti by Hand. Haiti By Hand is an artisan group of Haitian women begun by Rebecca Sower. Just days before the earthquakes of January 2010, Rebecca was in Haiti working with this group of women. This etsy shop was established to showcase and sell the handcrafts of the Haitians, as well as a shop to sell items donated by artists and crafters who want to help this group of Haitians rebuild and establish themselves after the devastation of the earthquakes.

Click here to visit the Haiti by Hand blog.

Click here to visit the Haiti by Hand Esty store.

To register for this class, please visit My Creative Classroom.

Thank you to Elena and Scrapbook Royalty for helping us spread the word about this worthy cause!!
