FREE Bling?!

How can that be?! Scrapbook Royalty is giving away FREE BLING! Kaiser Craft has donated Black and Clear packets of their fabulous bling so that the first 50 people who register for our Black, White, and Scrap All Over event will get ONE OF EACH!
We've already had 50 registrants but that's okay because...

If you register before the 25th of May and you'll receive a SINGLE PACK of bling! Kaiser Craft sent enough extra bling for us to give out even more!! Woohoo! And that's in addition to the free goodies you're already getting just for registering, like our signature tote hook in a handmade felt case and make n takes at each store.

Handmade from the Heart, Just for You!

The Scrapbook Royalty committee spent yesterday afternoon sewing, blinging, and assembling the felt tote hook bags for the Black, White & Scrap All Over event! If you register for the event, you will receive one of these custom hand made felt bags to store your very own tote hook in. Did I mention, you will get a tote hook too??

Here are some members sewing the ribbon on the bags:

Here are Gloria, Elena, and Melanie hard at work blinging out the bags:

You'll have the whole month of June to visit 5 scrapbooking stores in the Murrieta/Temecula area of Riverside County. Each time you visit a store, you will receive a raffle ticket for every $10 you spend. You'll be entered into a raffle to win an AWESOME gift basket from EACH store--you could possibly win 5 baskets if your luck is right!

Plus you get a raffle ticket the first time you enter the store and one for doing the FREE make n take. After you've visited all the stores, you'll have a complete mini album! Also, at one of the stores you'll be surprised with your goody bag--this will have your tote hook, the adorable felt bag, and acrylic covers and chipboard pages for your mini book.

Oh, and did I mention FREE CROPPING PASSES!!?? Every store you visit will give you an incentive to you to come back to their store. It could be a coupon, a goody bag, and some stores are even giving passes to come back another day and crop for free! Can't beat that!

The book's acrylic covers are not decorated--the design of that is up to you! You'll have the whole month of July to design your cover and submit it for judging. Each store owner will pick their favorite and you will win a $50 gift certificate to that store!

So don't miss out!

Did You Know...

...that Scrapbook Royalty is a 100% volunteer run organization?

Our entire committee, including Founder Elena Etcheverry, are volunteers! None of us are paid for the work we do for Scrapbook Royalty whether it is web design, event planning, fundraising, seeking donations from manufacturers and stores to use as silent auction items, designing make n take for the events, running events, composing our email newsletters...we put in hours and hours of work for free to help benefit all of the different charities we help fundraise for. Some of us volunteer full-time to work on Scrapbook Royalty's events while others help as many hours as they can spare but no matter how much time we put in, we do it because we enjoy helping others.

...that Scrapbook Royalty raises money for OTHER charities?

Scrapbook Royalty has helped over 15 different nonprofits, and some more than once! Our main mission at Scrapbook Royalty is to help raise money and awareness for other charities, nonprofits, worthy causes. At each of our events we invite a representative from the charity we are helping to speak to our attendees about their charity and the work they do. Our goal is not only to raise money of the charity but also to spread the word about their work and their cause all over the world. This helps people who are interested in that cause to find out more about how to help and people who need services from the charity to find them as well.

...that you can host your own Scrapbook Royalty affiliate event?

Have a charity in mind or a worthy cause that you would like to help? We are ready to help you host a charity event in your area. Just contact Scrapbook Royalty's event organizers and we'll help you with your event! Or send an email to us at info@scrapbookroyalty.com. We have affiliate events going on all over the country, all the time. Let us help make your event spectacular!...that if you want to volunteer Scrapbook Royalty wants your help?

Do you enjoy volunteering for "noble" causes? Scrapbook Royalty needs your help! If you're a charity minded individual who loves scrapbooking but loves helping others even more, or if you have a special talent you think might benefit Scrapbook Royalty's events, please contact us or email us at info@scrapbookroyalty.com. We are looking for volunteers to help at our events, coordinate local events in their area, or promote our crops in their neck of the woods. We couldn't do all the things we do if it weren't for our dedicated group of volunteers like you!

...that Scrapbook Royalty doesn't just raise money?

Besides helping over 15 different nonprofits, Scrapbook Royalty has also:

  • Held an all day event to scan photos for the fire victims from the 2007 California wildfires
  • Collected and sent over 1500 handmade cards to US troops overseas
  • Made over 100 handmade scrapbooks for families coping with cancer in 2007
Albums made at Cancer Coping Center Event at Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks in Vista, CA

Albums Made at Cancer Coping Center Event at It's About Time Scrapbooks, Murrieta, CA
  • Sponsored 5 families' Christmas wish lists for families staying at a women's shelter
  • Decorated and delivered over 150 frames for kids with cancer
  • And so much more!
Check out all of our past events and the charities, families, and nonprofits they have benefited.

...that Scrapbook Royalty is only two and a half years old?

We have worked tirelessly to spread the word to scrapbookers all over the world, letting you know what we do and how you can help. We appreciate everyone's support and help in spreading the word and helping Scrapbook Royalty to successfully help over 15 different charities to date! And we've had an average of about one event per month! Wow!!

...that Treasures for Charity is an online store that donates a portion of all sales to help cover Scrapbook Royalty's operating costs?

And you can buy cool tote hooks, aprons, bling, charms and more from Treausres for Charity? Twenty percent of all sales is donated to Scrapbook Royalty to cover the costs of website hosting and other expenses that we don't get donated. Check it out HERE.

...that
Scrapbook Royalty can also raise money through your vacation?

Do you like to Travel? Do you book your travel online? Go to www.TravelingRoyalty.com to book your travel and the commission will be donated to the Scrapbook Royalty Charities! You're going to do it anyway, why not give the money to a good cause! It's just like using any discount search engine. Everything from hotel rooms, cruises, packages, car rentals and more!

...that Scrapbook Royalty not only gets help from volunteers but from business, manufacturers, and stores as well?

We could not raise the amount of funds we've raised for charities or put on our royally awesome events without the help of our generous sponsors! From scrapbook supply manufacturers to restaurants and bakeries to consultants to local scrapbook stores to individuals who just love to craft to instructors and designers, Scrapbook Royalty has been very fortunate to have encountered a group of immensely generous sponsors who have had a hand in raising thousands of dollars for charities all over the globe. We could not do what we do without their help and donations! Here are just a few of our sponsors:

Mad Hatter Bus Tour

This past Saturday, the SBR committee got up at the crack of dawn to kick off Ever After's Mad Hatter bus tour! It was really fun! They did a really great job with the creative name tags and cute make and take. They had an amazingly fancy bus with leather seats and all! SBR provided the continental breakfast and a raffle trunk, which was generously donated by Sheila (of Ever After's Survivor Crop Committee), to raise money for Susan G. Komen to kick off Survivor Crop. Overall the trunk raffle raised over $250 for Survivor Crop! Woohoo!!

Yep, you heard correctly! Elena and the Scrapbook Royalty committee are going to do that crazy 24 hour
Survivor Crop again! And this time SBR will be hosting the silent auction! We are very excited about teaming up with Ever After to help raise money for the Susan G.Komen Foundation. If you want to join the Scrapbook Royalty table (we are going to attend) let us know because we will be making plans for our "theme" stuff very soon.

A Night to Remember

Friends of Scott is a San Diego charity who helps children coping with cancer. Every year they organize a wonderful "prom" night for the children they help. This year, Scrapbook Royalty was proud to be a part of this heart warming, special evening celebrating these children.

Here's the story, form Elena's personal blog:

Yep, Melanie and I were Julie’s dates to the Unforgettable Prom for Kids affected by Cancer. This is a yearly event put on by Friends of Scott Foundation, run by Carmen who lost her son Scott to cancer.

The kids arrived in style in Limos from the hospital. They looked like Princesses and Princes! This year there were 75 kids plus their dates. While they were dancing and having a blast you could not tell which ones had cancer. They were just kids having fun. They ranged in age from 12-19 and at first that seemed strange to me till it was explained that some of them
would not see their prom and some were to sick to attend their own prom so it really is a special thing for them.

We spent the first hour finishing the 150 frames that the Scrapbook Royalty volunteers had made for each child. It was hilarious to be in our fancy dresses on the floor with glue sticks! They turned out great though and really made the goody bag fun. We were in charge of handing out the goody bags at the end of the night and in the bright lights of the lobby you could see the kids that had thinning hair or pale faces. Some had IVs in their arms. It was really moving to see them so young and dealing with cancer. It made me want to do more for this great charity.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped us to decorate the frames we gave out for this event! It is so special and will be something these children will remember forever.

Breaking News--SBR is on TV!!

This week the committee and volunteers were on hand to watch as the founder of SBR, Elena Etcheverry received the Channel 10 Leadership Award. Watch it on San Diego's Channel 10 6 o'clock news on April 10th, 2008. We will also post it on the website! We are so excited to get this commendation for our hard work. Special thanks to Pink Pineapple Scrapbooks for letting us take over their crop room for the award presentation, Maryam from Cancer Coping Center for making the adorable goodie bags, and to Robin Slominsky for catering the beautiful "Royal-Tea" luncheon.
