Royalty On the Road Update
We're embarking on a new endeavor at Scrapbook Royalty!!! Elena and I will be traveling to Scrapbook Stores all over Southern California to bring Scrapbook Royalty events to you.
Scrapbook Royalty is approached multiple times each year to help organize events to benefit every kind of charity you can imagine. As much as we'd love to help every single worthy cause, we simply do not have the time or woman-power to organize that many large scale events every year. So we figured we'd bring the event to the community where the charity is!
We've partnered with several Local Scrapbook Stores to kick off this tour. Each event will be held IN the scrapbook store and includes an optional class. The class will help to raise money for Scrapbook Royalty and you'll make a really cool project! We'll also have raffles going on, sponsored by each Scrapbook Store and Scrapbook Royalty, to benefit a designated charity.
- Fairy Fly-Bys for everyone who comes to the event!
- Goodie Bags for everyone who registers for the class during the event!
- Raffles to benefit a local charity chosen by the Scrapbook Store!
- A Papercrafting Class full of techniques and goodies (fee applies)
- More awareness about the charity being featured!
- Fun fun fun!!

CHA Kids Craft Day in Anaheim
On January 13, 2009, Mayor Curt Pringle and the Anaheim City Council officially proclaimed January 23rd as Kid’s Craft Day in Anaheim on behalf of CHA which sponsored the kids craft day and kids craft fair as a way of saying 'thank you' to the City of Anaheim for being a gracious host to its annual Winter Convention & Trade Show. Scrapbook Royalty volunteers, Gloria, Julie, Paola, Emily, Isabella and Elena traveled from San Diego to help with this event. There were about 300 kids that came through the craft fair, all eager to make a project and have some fun. All of the sponsors and volunteers were so nice. When we left, we all knew today had been a productive day. It is always a blessing when we get to make a difference sharing what we love to do!

All of January 2009: "Sock it to Poverty" Sock Drive
Our Founder, Elena, is part of the Fiskateer Charity Fiskamittee and every month they will be choosing a different way to help others. January is "Poverty in America Awareness Month" and with that the Fiskateer Charity Fiskamittee is starting 2009 off by focusing on this special cause.
Here are some facts about socks and how they can help "sock it to poverty."
- Socks are vital to overall health of those living on the streets.
- Socks are often not donated enough and are greatly appreciated by the recipient.
- Most homeless and impovershed people do not own shoes that fit properly or are not in good condition. This increases the importance of socks.
- Many people suffer from diabetes and other ailments and they could benefit from socks with extra support.
- Not all shelters accept clean used socks so it's important when collecting that we collect new socks.
- Socks are relatively inexpensive to donate.
- There are men, women and children that live on the streets and all could benefit with a new pair of socks.
PLEASE SEND US SOCKS!!
All sizes are needed!
Please send them to:
Scrapbook Royalty
PO Box 910665
San Diego, CA 92191

Get Fit with Games
New Year's Resolution anyone? I know I made mine and broke it already. I want to lose some weight! Especially my holiday pounds.
But sometimes getting out for a run or to the gym can be a challenge, especially for you busy moms. Nowadays there are new ways to get in shape that makes a fun alternative to the treadmill or bike and enables us to burn calories, alleviate stress and enjoy quality family time.
What's that you say???
Play popular videogames! like Wii Fit, My Fitness Coach or Dance, and Dance Revolution. Its makes exercise fun! And games like Brain Age or Crosswords DS give your brain a workout too. And its addictive. Seriously, there is a reason that kids sit in front of the TV for hours with a remote in their hands. Its fun! I love my Dance Revolution Game. I look silly and I am horrible at it but in the end I know I got off my booty and burned some calories!
So I wanted to let you all know that GameStop is having a special promotion it's called "Sharpen the Mind, Shape the Body" and I just read this:
“As a special incentive, all shoppers who spend $35 or more on designated products will receive a free 12-month trial subscription to their choice of Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, Redbook, Good Housekeeping or Esquire.”
This is cool. buy a game, get fit, and then enjoy a soak in the tub with your free magazine.
This promotion is only till end of January so go get your gaming on! Your kids will love you for it!

Support Us Through GoodSearch -- It's FREE!!
Times are tough--we all feel it whether we're millionaires or stay at home moms. I was recently reading an article in a magazine that stated that charitable donations are down across the board. Very sad because I know people want to help, it is just a matter of not having enough funds to go around.
You search online, right? So instead of going to Google or Yahoo, why not use GoodSearch? Through GoodSearch Scrapbook Royalty earns a penny for every search you do. Just type in "Scrapbook Royalty" in the box for charity name and we'll automatically earn money every time you use GoodSearch in the future. You can even see how much we've made each month, in the past year, and since we joined Good Search. Here's some info from their website about our numbers as of today:
Amount Raised
Please use this site honestly. Fraudulent searches will result in a charity being de-listed.
Scrapbook Royalty (San Diego, CA)
ID: 884503
Month | Searches | Amount Raised from Searches (est.) | New! Amount Raised from Shopping – Updated Weekly | Total (Estimated) |
---|---|---|---|---|
January | 256 | $2.56 | $0.00 | $2.56 |
Total: Year-to-Date | 256 | $2.56 | $0.00 | $2.56 |
Total: Since Inception | 2167 | $22.49 | $8.94 | $31.43 |
The more people use GoodSearch, the more money will be directed towards your cause. The sky is the limit so please spread the word!
We estimate that each search will raise $0.01 for your favorite charity or school (image, video and site-specific searches are not included). However, for the fiscal years (October through September) of 2006, 2007 and 2008, each search actually earned 1.3 cents! The data from GoodSearch is calculated in real time, while the GoodShop shopping data is posted weekly. GoodShop donations may also be delayed in posting as our retailers can take up to eight weeks to report sales back to us. Also, you may notice a change in the totals due to returned merchandise or cancelled orders.
Here's an example of how much your organization can earn:
Charity or School Size | Number of Supporters | Average Searches Per Day | Estimated Revenue/Year from Search | Amount Purchased Per Person/Year via GoodShop | Average % of Sale Donated | Estimated Revenue from Shopping | Total Donation/Year |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Small | 100 | 2 | $730 | $500 | 3% | $1,500 | $2,230 |
Medium | 1,000 | 2 | $7,300 | $500 | 3% | $15,000 | $22,300 |
Large | 10,000 | 2 | $73,000 | $500 | 3% | $150,000 | $223,000 |
The data provided herein is estimated. For example, the revenue does not reflect certain adjustments which may be provided for in the terms of service (e.g. adjustments due to fraudulent searches, or returned or cancelled merchandise). As a result, we offer no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of this information. This information is to be used as a guide only.
So add Good Search to your toolbar to make it easy to search and help us earn money every time you search. You can also use GoodShop to shop your favorite online retailers and they will donate a percentage of the sale to Scrapbook Royalty. How cool is that?!

Twirlin' Tutus Disney Birthday
As she does every year, she celebrated at Disneyland and this year she got a beautiful tutu to wear as a gift from Sarah Bassett owner of Mas Fina Cantina in Carlsbad, CA (yum!) and a wonderful Etsy store that sells beautiful tutus and fairy wear! Sarah's restaurant is sponsoring one of the meals at the Royal Slumber Crop as well as donating tutus for the Silent Auction! But you can get your tutu ahead of time and wear it! She is generously donating 15% of any purchase our supporters make. Just be sure and mention Scrapbook Royalty when you pay.
Here are some photos from Elena's Magical Disney Birthday Celebration and Parade. She insists they throw this parade in her honor each year-why burst her bubble :)
