Scrappin' for Ta Ta's

Scrapbook Royalty raised $1,200 Saturday, at the Scrappin’ for Ta Ta’s event. This was a fabulous, 15-hour art retreat at the La Jolla Marriot Hotel. Those that attended were treated like royalty in Scrapbook Royalty style. The money assisted Team Ta Tas in their efforts to raise funds for a 60-mile walk in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a non-profit charity raising money for breast cancer research.

With four celebrity guest teachers, the agenda included nearly every minute of the day. The meals and snacks were endless. We had a silent auction that boasted package full of scrapbooking and art supplies. Naturally, everyone took advantage of the Canon printers and cameras on hand. If that wasn’t enough, the camaraderie and love was inspiring.

Vicky Breslin started our day with an extraordinary bauble bracelet made with acrylic beads, felt beads and buttons. Everyone dug into the exhaustive supply of goodies and selected their color theme. When finished, we had each created very different, but beautiful bracelets.

Krystie Whillock and Teri Rogers from Pink Pineapple provided all the supplies and shared their knowledge of scrapbooking with a beautiful, very girlie, two-page layout. Believe it or not, we had one lady who had never scrapbooked and was empowered to not only finish this project, but add her own creative flair.

Jennifer Priest’s designs are gorgeous and she didn’t disappoint with her beautiful Mini Book. She provided all the supplies and step by step instructions to create this fabulous book, which is ready for our own pictures, or to give as a lovely gift.

Suzi Blu provided all the supplies necessary to teach us how to color faces with shadow and expression. Then we learned how to put paint on the board, add outlining, and add doodles and scribbles. If that wasn’t inspiring enough, we then finished our pieces with bees wax.

A huge thank you to all the participants and the incredible Scrapbook Royalty Crew for all that they did to make this an exciting and worthwhile event.
