Cards for Troops *Update*!

Two weeks ago, when we last updated you about our Cards for Troops Campaign, we had collected over 1600 handmade cards for the troops! Since then, over 400 more cards have arrived, bringing our total to over 2000!!! WOW!!

That means we've collected 500 more cards than last year! That's 30% more!! Thank you so much for your support in this nationwide effort!

Elena Etcheverry traveled to Camp Pendelton in Southern California earlier this month to present the cards to Gunnery Sergeant Remi Rodriguez of the United States Marine Corps:

In addition to the cards we gave to Gunnery Sergeant Remi Rodriguez of the United States Marine Corps, we also gave cards to a local scrapbooker, Marie Cartmill, who is distributing them to her husband's Army company.

We received cards from these donors in the last two weeks:

  • Susan Hamilton, Los Gatos, CA
  • Terry Oulboub, Santa Clara, CA
  • Maryam Davodi Far, San Diego, CA

We're In Print!!

We knew this day was coming...

We've been published!!!

Warren Gruenig of Scrap & Stamp Arts featured Scrapbook Royalty in his Questions & Answers article in the December 2008 issue! The article features an interview with Elena Etcheverry, Scrapbook Royalty's founder, as well as a card and layout by Jennifer Priest, our Creative Director.

Earlier this year Warren Gruenig contacted Elena about doing an article on Scrapbook Royalty and what it is we do. The article is featured on page 9:

There is alot of great information in it about Scrapbook Royalty , our mission, our accomplishments, and how our organization functions. To purchase the magazine, click here to find a location to purchase it at or purchase a back issue online.

Jennifer's page and card are all about what we do at Scrapbook Royalty. The layout features products from some of our loyal sponsors, such as Prima Marketing and Tattered Angels, as well as "bling" and photos from our"Fantasyland Crop for Kids" in March 2008.

We also wanted to thank Warren Gruenig for this opportunity. He is so genuinely interested in Scrapbook Royalty and the charity work we do. And he so thoughtfully shared our story through his column in Scrap & Stamp Arts. Thank you Warren!!

The Great Southern California Shake Out

Posted from Jennifer Priest's blog:

Think you're prepared for an earthquake?
Think again.

Don't Freak Out!
SHAKE OUT!!

Participate in The Great Southern California Shake Out tomorrow. To register, click here.

Many Californians live near the San Andreas fault line. I live RIGHT next to it. The drill is supposed to get our agencies, emergency services, businesses, schools, and residents prepared to react to a 7.8 magnitude quake centered on the San Andreas fault, that is anticipated to last 2 to 3 minutes. The 1994 Northridge Earthquake only lasted 7 seven seconds. And you remember the aftermath from that quake. So imagine what will happen if the shaking were to last 20 to 30 times longer as the USGS predicts the next big California Quake will last?

What can you do to prepare?

There is still time to prepare. We NEVER know when an earthquake will hit so NOW is the best time to prepare. Visit my PERSONAL SHAKE OUT PAGE if you want to join. If you want me to send you an invitation to join in this effort, please send me an email at jennifer@scrapbookroyalty.com or leave a comment here.
